Barry Hansen grew up in Northwest Washington and served a French-speaking mission in Quebec. He studied voice at Brigham Young University and sang with BYU's Vocal Jazz Ensemble. Barry's studio vocals have appeared on Seminary's Greatest Songs, True to the Faith, Parables, Bring Them In, Let Us Go Forth, and The Whole Armor of God. He also co-wrote the title track to Let Us Go Forth with his brother Greg Hansen. He performed My Soul Hungered as part of the 2003 Pearl Awards broadcast. Barry is a 2004 Pearl Award nominee for Studio Vocalist, and a 2006 nominee for Male Vocalist. As a freelance graphic designer, he is also a four-time Pearl Award nominee for Album Design, winning the award in 2004. Barry recently teamed up with his brother Greg to produce his first solo album, My Soul Hungered. The album includes several classics and introduces some new songs, including The Title of Liberty, co-written by Barry and Greg. Barry and his wife Marian are the parents of eight children. |
